I LUG NY Donation of LEGO to Cohen Children’s Medical Center

I LUG NY continued to raise funds to help bring smiles to children’s faces who are being cared for at local children’s hospitals. Every penny raised is used to purchase LEGO to donate to two local children’s hospitals. We partnered with Cohen Children’s Medical Center of NY in the past and have done so once again in 2014. I LUG NY member Brian Wygand delivered a donation of LEGO to Cohen Children’s Medical Center on December 14, almost exactly a year to the date of our previous holiday donation. https://www.ilugny.org/2013/12/15/donation-1-of-2-dropped-off-at-cohen-childrens-medical-center-today/

I LUG NY received a LUG Support package from the LEGO Community Engagement and Events Team (Thank you Kevin and Kristin) and used 3 sets from this package to help with our fundraising efforts. The sets were raffled off to membership and the money collected was used to purchase the LEGO for our donation efforts. Thank you to all the members who contributed funds via the raffle and who rounded up LEGO for the donation!

In all, I LUG NY has donated LEGO to Cohen Children’s Medical Center three times over the past two years and twice to Maria Ferreri Children’s Hospital in Westchester. (more to follow on this donation).

We look forward to helping the young builders at each hospital take their minds off of the reason they are there in the first place and focus on something creative, imaginative and fun like LEGO.
